JULY 2020 NEWS_AND_EVENTS Upcoming Courses, Events, Trips, and Latest News

Hello there SV Tribe!

The first newsletter in a long time, we reckoned the sun is starting to shine again, so we can all start exposing our skin to some vitamin D! My skin is so dry, and I am convinced the cure would be scuba diving. Today Marina and I am drew the short straw to clean the pool, the bottom looks like a years worth of dust, basically have our own little Bass Lake. Wish us good luck because our pool is still registering a very healthy 12 degrees!

Scuba diving in general is still taking a knock in terms of COVID-19 with “recreational” provincial travel being prevented and the coastal resorts not being allowed to launch recreational. I promise you though the second I get a "wiff" of us being able to get our behinds to any place that smells like salt water; you will be the first to be informed.

Meanwhile, we are slowly getting Scubaversity going again, and have a couple of events and initiatives to get you diving again or at least give us a visit. Have a look at our Try Side mount experience. We have several groups with courses where we are keeping them informed as to when we will be able to get the practical water work completed. PADI has launched several online specialties so if you are keen to get your MSDT starting will only cost you the course material.

Provisionally we are planning a trip to Bass Lake at the end of the month dependent on the rules of "Cha" - if you are keen to join us please RSVP.

Our recent PADI Woman's day event was also fantastic, and we will definitely be hosting another day like this for the ladies. We miss you all immensely can not wait for a good old, Scubaversity get-together.

Lots of love
Mandy, Dicky & Marina

Bringing diving back

Are you looking for a new experience in diving?
Sidemount diving has been the big buzz word in the diving industry for a while now listing benefits such as comfort, control in terms of streamlining, using less energy, more air supply as a few.
We are looking at starting some courses at Scubaversity and thought a good way to get you interested would be to host a day where you can try it.
There is a cost involved of R300 and you have to RSVP to book a time slot.

We are provisionally planning a trip to Bass Lake for the weekend of the 22-23 August. We will definitely camp if its possible otherwise you could join us on either day for a social dive.We will also complete a couple of courses if you would like to complete Advanced, Rescue, Night, PPB or even start Deep or Wreck contact us so we can get you onto those courses.
Once again we would need you to RSVP to make sure all rules are adhered to as well as to make sure we can allocate gear.

22-23 AUGUST
Instructor Development Career
The current situation has led a lot of us to rethink what we do to survive daily and how we would like our future or that of our children to look like. The route as a Scuba Instructor is definitely not the norm when we start thinking of careers, however it has magical life-changing potential, if you choose to pursue it actively. Employment options are more than you would realize, if you would like to chat about it over a cup of coffee give me call I am always happy to tell people about how scuba diving has changed my life!
Take a look at our brochure
